Drug Seizure in Boyd County, KY

(Ashland, KY) - Kentucky State Police in Ashland are continuing the investigation after marijuana was discovered inside of a vehicle following a traffic stop on I 64. Trooper Brad Simmons conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 chevrolet rental vehicle at the 185 mile post for the offense of speeding. Upon investigation, Trooper Simmons noticed several indicators that led him to believe the suspects were transporting drugs. After a consent to search was granted, Trooper Simmons called in KSP Special Operations unit to assist. Trooper Shawn Podunavac and his K-9 were used in the search. A large amount of marijuana (less than 8 oz) was located under the hood of the vehicle.
Jacque I. Jordan and Ricktavious Tillman (both of GA) were arrested and charged with the Trafficking in Marijuana less than 8 oz, 2 nd Offense, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Driver of the car (Jacque Jordan) was also charged with Speeding.
