Shooting in Knott County, Leave One Injuried

(Hazard, KY) - On 01-03-2005 at approximately 1500 hours the Kentucky State Police received a call that a female had been shot in the Softshell Community of Knott County.

Upon arrival at the scene Christine Smith was found outside the apartment of Teresa Slone with a single gunshot wound to the pelvic area.

Mrs. Smith was transported to the Hazard Hospital and has been admitted in serious condition.

No arrest have been made at this time and due to conflicting stories the case will be presented to the Knott County Grand Jury at a later date.

Detective Ken Duff is continuing the investigation.
