The Kentucky State Police Post 12 in Frankfort report the addition of three new Troopers to the staff. Recruit class number 84 and 85 graduated on December 20, 2005 in Frankfort, adding 88 new State Troopers to be assigned across the Commonwealth. The following Troopers have been assigned to Post 12 and will be assigned to Franklin County.
Trooper Tony Jones of Frankfort, KY, Trooper Steve Spurlock of Coalgood, KY, and Trooper Jason Briscoe of Lawrenceburg, KY.
The Post 12 Troopers reported for duty on December 27, 2005, to begin their field training phase. According to Captain Tom Porter Commander of Post 12, the next eight weeks will allow the new Troopers to apply the skills they learned during the 22-week academy to real life situations.
All new troopers assigned across the Commonwealth will ride with experienced troopers to gain a sense of the State Police role in our communities and to learn the geography of their Post area.
We are always delighted to receive new troopers, we expect great thing from them. They will contribute greatly toward our mission of providing quality police service to our citizens.
Post 12 has geographic responsibility for Anderson, Fayette, Franklin, Scott, and Shelby. Spencer, and Woodford counties.
