Post 12 Thanksgiving Holiday Data November 23 - 27, 2005

(Frankfort, KY) - Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort, report no fatal crashes in our seven counties in the Post 12 area. Preliminary statistics indicates that 11 people died in 10 separate crashes statewide during the 2005 Thanksgiving Holiday.

Troopers working in the Post 12 area issued a total of 397 citations, 328 speeding citations, 53 seat belt citations and 4 child restraint citations. There were 12 DUI arrest, 15 traffic collisions investigated and 53 motorist assists.

Kentucky State Police Post 12, provides police coverage for Anderson, Fayette, Franklin, Scott, Shelby, Spencer and Woodford counties.

The Kentucky State Police encourages the public to report impaired drivers by calling 1-800-222-5555 (in the state of Kentucky only, does not work out of state) or 502-227-2221.

*These statistics are still preliminary as KSP waits for all local law enforcement agencies to report any crashes and fatalities that may have occurred in their areas.
