Shelby County Pursuit and Arrest

Frankfort, KY: Trooper Hunter Martin was enroute to an emergency call in Anderson County to assist another unit. While enroute Trooper Martin observed a vehicle failing to yield the right of way on I-64 Eastbound at the 35 mile marker. Trooper Martin began to pursue the vehicle reaching speeds in excess of 110 mph. The vehilce then exited at the 48 mile marker onto KY 151 and traveled south bound again reaching speeds of 110 mph. The suspect spun out near the junction of US 127 in Anderson County striking a guard rail. After the suspect refused he was forced out of the vehicle and continued to resist. After a brief struggle the suspect was handcuffed and taken into custody.
Suspect (Larry Baskins) was charged with the following offenses: Fleeing and Evading 1st, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Receiving Stolen Property over $300 (vehicle) Speeding, DUI 1st, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st, Operating on Suspended License, and Resisting Arrest. Mr. Baskins was lodged in the Franklin County Regional Jail.
Investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort.
