Trooper Involved in Pursuit, Arrest Drunk Driver and Recovers Stolen Vehicle

FRANKFORT, KY - On Monday, August 15, 2005, at 1:20 AM Trooper Jeremy Devasher noticed a suspicious vehicle northbound on Paris Pike in Fayette County. The suspicious vehicle license plate was not illuminated. The Trooper followed the vehicle into a driveway and initiated a traffic stop.

The operator Roger Dale Gribbins, age 49 complied at first and later returned to his vehicle driving away striking the trooper's vehicle and a rock wall. Mr. Gribbins was arrest after a vehicle and foot pursuit. The vehicle was stolen from Indiana.

He was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center. He has been charged with Receiving Stolen Property (Auto), Resisting Arrest, Fleeing and Evading 1st and 2nd, Wanton Endangerment 1st, 2 counts of Criminal Mischief 1st, DUI, License plate not illuminated and Operating on a suspended license.
