Update to: Male Found Deceased In Kentucky River

(Frankfort, KY.) - On Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at 5:35 PM, Kentucky State Police Troopers located a deceased white male in the Kentucky River around the Wapping Street area in Frankfort, KY. The Troopers were in the area following up on a missing person investigation from Monday, June 6, 2005.

On Wednesday, Morning, June 8, 2005, the State Medical Examiner Office performed an autopsy.

The victim has been identified as Simeon Nicholas McCarty, age 25 of Frankfort, KY. The cause of death has been determined accidental drowning. At this time no foul play is suspected. Our investigation to this point has revealed that the victim was last seen early Sunday morning walking on West Main Street from the St. George Dragon Pub in downtown Frankfort. The victim in this death investigation is the same person reported missing from Monday, June 6, 2005. Investigation is ongoing
