Memorial Day Holiday 2005

(Frankfort, KY.) - Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort reports that there were no fatal crashes in our seven counties in the Post 12 area during the Memorial Day Holiday 2005. Preliminary data show 7 fatalities statewide.

Post 12 Troopers issued a total of 345 citations, 186 citation were for speeding. There were 122 other citations issued. There were 28 citations for seat belt violations and 0 for child restraint violations. There were 9 DUI arrest, 5 traffic collisions investigated and 7 traffic safety checkpoints conducted. This data is preliminary and comes from Post 12 Frankfort.

Kentucky State Police Post 12, provides police coverage for Anderson, Fayette, Franklin, Scott, Shelby, Spencer and Woodford counties.

Traffic safety checkpoints as well as saturation patrols will continue with special emphasis on seat belt violations, speeding and impaired driving.
