Assault Involving Police Officer Charge in Clay County

(LONDON, KY) - On Friday, January 28, 2005 Kentucky State Police responded to a disturbance call on Collins Fork approximately 8 miles north of Manchester. Trooper Charles Johnson arrived at the residence and, discovered Leonard Hensley Jr. at the residence intoxicated and, extremely belligerent.

Trooper Johnson placed Mr. Hensley under arrest. At which time a brief struggle ensued before Leonard Hensley Jr. was restrained and, transported to the Manchester Memorial Hospital where he was treated and, released. He was then transported to the Clay County Detention Center where he was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and, disorderly conduct.

The investigation is continuing by Trooper Johnson.
