Pursuit Ends with 2 Arrest in Clay County, KY

(LONDON, KY) - On Saturday, January 29, 2005 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Troopers Nick Metcalf and Matthew Reid were on routine patrol on Curry Branch Road when they observed a vehicle traveling in a reckless manner.
Both troopers turned on the vehicle and, activated their emergency equipment chasing the vehicle onto KY 80 at which time the vehicle continued to ignore the troopers, traveling west approximately 4 miles at high rates of speed. The vehicle suddenly came to a stop causing Trooper Metcalfs cruiser to strike the rear of the suspect vehicle. Causing minor damage to both vehicles. Troopers exited their vehicles and, ordered the occupants to exit the vehicle at which time a struggle ensued before the driver was finally able to be restrained and, placed in the patrol car.
The driver of the vehicle Lonnie Hicks (35) Hima, KY was charged with D.U.I. 2nd, D.U.I. suspended 2nd, fleeing and, evading 1st,criminal mischief 1st, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, failure to yield right of way and, failure to dim headlights. The passenger Clifford W. Hensley (24) Manchester, KY was charged with possession of marijuana. Both hicks and, Hensley was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center, While Troopers Reid and, Metcalf continue their investigation.
