Death Investigation of Infant in Harlan, KY

(Harlan, KY) On 6/7/2005 Detective Mike Cornett responded to a call at a residence on Pope Hill in Harlan, Ky. The call came in as a possible abandoned infant at the residence. After further investigation, a deceased newborn infant was located and was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Gerald Scott. The body has been sent to the Kentucky State Police Crime Lab in Frankfort, Ky. for an autopsy.

Assisting at the scene was Lt. Bobby Johnson, Trooper Van Wright, Trooper Rob Farley and Trooper Keith Saylor. This case is still under investigation by Detective Mike Cornett Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan.
