2 Sparta Kentucky Women Arrested For Selling Oxycontin

(SPARTA, KY) - On October 08, 2004 at 5:00 PM the Kentucky State Police concluded a nearly 6 week investigation into the illegal trafficking of over 554 Oxycontin and Oxycodone pills with an estimated street value of over $43,300 with the arrest of 2 Sparta, Kentucky residents.

Arrested:

Vicki A. Ries Age 44

Madonna C. Shepherd Age 40

Both were arrested on 2 counts each of Trafficking In A Controlled Substance 1^st, Class 'C' Felony and 1 count each of Trafficking In A Controlled Substance 1^st Enhanced With A Gun, Class 'B' Felony. Both women were lodged in the Carroll County Detention Center.

Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigations West Detective Derek Boyd was assisted by troopers from the Campbellsburg Post of the Kentucky State Police as well as the Gallatin County Sheriffs Office and the Warsaw Police Department.
