Sparta Fire Chief Indicted And Arrested On 25 Felonies

(WARSAW, KY) - On September 27, 2004, Wallace R. Patrick III was indicted by the Gallatin County Grand Jury on 25 class D - Felonies. Mr. Patrick was the chief of the Sparta Fire Department until November 2003. The indictments comes after nearly 2 year long investigation involving the Kentucky State Police, the Attorney Generals Office and the Charitable Gaming Commission.
The charges are as follows:
- Count 1 - Forgery 2nd
- Counts 2 & 3 - Corporate Contribution To Aid Candidate For Public Office Prohibited.
- Counts 4 thru 6 - Theft By Failure To Make Required Disposition Over/$300.
- Counts 7 thru 17 - Diversion Of Charitable Gaming Funds Over/$300.
- Counts 18 thru 25 - Theft By Failure To Make required Disposition Over/$300.
Mr. Patrick was arrested with the assistance from the Gallatin and Boone County Sheriffs Offices and transferred to the Carroll County Detention Center with a $25, 000 bond.
Detective Todd Harwood with the Kentucky State Police is the lead investigator in this case.
