Tennessee Highway Patrol Pursuit Ends in Kentucky, One Person Arrested

(Bowling Green, KY) - Tennessee Highway Patrol called KSP and advised they had two units in pursuit Northbound on I-65 from the district line and were requesting assistance. They were pursuing the vehicle as a result of an injury accident in their state. They terminated the pursuit at the 8 mile maker.
KSP Trooper Terry Alexander, unit 293 and KSP Captain Jeff Mayberry, unit 21 picked up the pursuit at the 16.5 mm. Detective Kevin Pickett, unit 706 set up at the William H. Natcher Parkway entrance ramp from I-65 to divert the pursuit to a less traveled roadway.
As the vehicle approached unit 706, the vehicle drove into the emergency lane and then drove into a grass area to attempt to avoid unit 706. The vehicle came back onto the emergency strip, trying to re-enter I-65, and struck unit 706.
Courtney Thomas was arrested without further incident. Ms. Thomas was charged with DUI 1st Aggravated Circumstances, Fleeing/Evading 1st, Wanton Endangerment 1st, Criminal Mischief 1st, No Seatbelt, Operating on Suspended O.L., Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana less than 8 ounces, Prescription drug not in approved container. She is lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
