Kinapping Investigation in Barren County

Date of News Release: 8/18/2004

(Bowling Green, KY) - At 16:20 hours Post 3 received a complaint indicating April Decker has been held hostage for two days by her boyfriend, John Cline date of birth 19790308. Subjects were reported to be mobile in a vehicle & were en route to Cave City. Trooper Chris Spradlin, unit 773, & Trooper Jonathan McChesney, unit 767, were dispatched to the area to attempt to locate the vehicle. Trooper Spradlin gained a visual on the vehicle at a stop light on KY 70 in Cave City limits. Trooper Spradlin initiated a traffic stop at KY 70 & I-65. Mr. Cline was arrested & lodged in the Barren County jail on assault 4th charges. The victim made a statement to the Barren County Commonwealth attorney. Who issued warrants for attempted murder, kidnapping, criminal mischief 1st, menacing, & terroristic threatening. The warrants were signed & then served on Mr. Cline, who remains lodged in the Barren County Jail. Investigation continues.
