Death Investigation in Beulah, KY

Beulah, KY (Hopkins County) - On November 17, 2004 at approximately 0045 hours, Hopkins County Central Dispatch received a report reference a residential fire on High Glory Road. Tpr. Billy Sumner heard the fire department being dispatched to the call and proceeded to the scene along with Tpr. Jason Kirk. Tpr. Sumner arrived at the scene at approximately 0054 hours. The trailer was fully engulfed in flames upon his arrival. The Richland and Charleston Volunteer Fire Departments arrived just after Tpr. Sumner and battled the blaze. The fire was extinguished by approximately 0300 to 0330 hours.
There were ten people in the trailer when the fire occurred. Seven people were able to escape from the trailer before emergency personnel arrived. Three people died as a result of the fire. The seven victims were transported to the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. Four of the seven were treated and released. Three were then flown to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville where they remain in critical condition.
At the present time, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police and the State Fire Marshal's Office.
The three victims have been identified as:
- Adam Duncan 18 year-old male
- Brianna Duncan 6 year-old female
- Christian Flores 4 year-old male
The three children flown to Kosair are:
- Korie Hart - 5 year-old female
- Bryden Mann - 14 month-old male
- Alyssa Duncan - 4 year-old female
The four people treated and released from the Regional Medical Center are:
- Cole Duncan 29 year-old male
- Laura Duncan 26 year-old female
- Aubree Duncan 22 month-old female
- Benjamin Guy 8 year-old male
