Felony Arrest in Pembroke, KY

Pembroke, KY (Christian County) - On November 7, 2004 at approximately 1640 hours, troopers responded to a complaint of a subject attempting to set fire to a door at an apartment building located on West Cherry Street in Pembroke.
The accused, Nicholas V. Goodwin age 43 of Hopkinsville, KY went to the apartment building and poured gasoline on the doors of the apartment complex. These doors were the only exit and entrance doors for the facility. Mr. Goodwin struck several matches in an attempt to start a fire.
The occupants of the apartments were inside while he was attempting to do this. Several people residing in other apartments stopped him from making any further attempts to start a fire.
The troopers arrived at the apartment complex and arrested Mr.Goodwin without further incident. Tpr. Jason Newby charged Mr. Goodwin with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (4 counts), Attempted Arson 1st Degree and Alcohol Intoxication. Mr. Goodwin was lodged in the Christian County Jail on a $125,000 bond.
