Death Investigation in Greenville, KY

Date of News Release: 10/29/2004

Greenville, KY (Muhlenberg County) - On October 28, 2004 at approximately 2040 hours, the Kentucky State Police Madisonville Post was contacted by Muhlenberg County Central Dispatch reference a death. Emergency workers had responded to a call of a crash located in the 3300 block of KY 176 east of Greenville. The emergency workers had discovered a victim in a vehicle off the roadway. The victim appeared to have been shot. The victim was identified as Jerrone L. Finch age 31 of Hopkinsville, KY. The Muhlenberg County Coroner's Office pronounced Mr. Finch dead at the scene.

An autopsy will be performed at the Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville on October 29, 2004 to determine the cause of death. At the present time, no motive for the shooting is apparent.

Detective Scott Smith is the lead investigator for the KSP. The Muhlenberg County Coroner's Office, the Greenville Volunteer Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted the KSP at the scene.
