Bronze Star Medal Awarded to Trooper

Image of Trooper Steven SilfiesFort Campbell, KY - Kentucky State Police Trooper Steven Silfies was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his actions in Iraq. He received this prestigious award in August of 2004 after he retired from the United States Army. Trooper Silfies received the award for his exceptionally meritorious achievement while he was assigned as the senior Special Forces Non-Commissioned Officer for Special Forces Ateam 556 that was instrumental in the liberation of Iraq. Trooper Silfies had previously been awarded the Bronze Star Medal in 2002 for his actions in Afghanistan as the acting Sergeant Major for C-Company, Second Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group.

He retired from the United States Army after serving his country for 22 years. Trooper Silfies began his career with the Kentucky State Police is May of 2003. He currently is assigned to Hopkins County.
