Marijuana Plants Eradication in Hopkins & Muhlenberg Counties

Hopkins & Muhlenberg Counties - On Tuesday, August 31, 2004 troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville eradicated 549 marijuana plants from Hopkins and Muhlenberg Counties. Of these, 147 plants were located near the Hopkins-Muhlenberg County line off KY 70. The remainder of the plants was located in the Anton and Mortons Gap areas in Hopkins County. The marijuana plants were transported to Post 2 where they were destroyed. The estimated value of the destroyed plants is $1,098,000. At the present time, no arrests have been made. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police. Troopers will continue their marijuana eradication efforts throughout the summer.
