Drug Roundup in Hopkins County

Date of News Release: 8/12/2004

(Madisonville, KY) - On August 11, 2004 the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville arrested 10 individuals on numerous drug charges in Hopkins County. This is part of an ongoing investigation that has been going on for approximately one year. More arrests are pending. All individuals were lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center. The Hopkins County Sheriffs Department assisted the Kentucky State Police. Arrested were the following individuals:

1. Edmond W. Smith - age 48 - Nortonville, KY
   Trafficking Marijuana 8 oz. to < 5 lbs. 1^st Offense (D Felony)
   Trafficking Marijuana less than 8 0z. 1^st Offense (A Misdemeanor)


2. Quincy R. Gilmore - age 30 - Madisonville, KY
   2 counts
   Trafficking Controlled Substance 1^st Degree 1^st Offense (C Felony)


3. John E. Nichols - age 47 - Dawson Springs, KY
   3 counts
   Trafficking Controlled Substance w/in 1000 Yards of School (D Felony)


4. Phillip D. Phelps - age 40 - Madisonville, KY
   2 counts
   Trafficking Controlled Substance 1^st Degree 1^st Offense (C Felony)
   2 counts
   Trafficking Controlled Substance 3^rd Degree 1^st Offense (A Misdemeanor)


5. Johnny G. Ray - age 36 - Madisonville, KY
   2 counts
   Trafficking Controlled Substance 1^st Degree 1^st Offense (C Felony)
   4 counts
   Trafficking Marijuana 8 oz. to < 5 lbs. 1^st Offense (D Felony)


6. Carlla J. Herold - age 44 - Madisonville, KY
   Trafficking Controlled Substance 2^nd Degree 1^st Offense (D Felony)


7. Bobby D. Ray age 30 Graham, KY
   Trafficking Marijuana 8 oz. to < 5 lbs. 1^st Offense (D Felony)


8. Robert D. Weaver - age 22 - Hopkinsville, KY
   Trafficking Controlled Substance 1^st Degree 1^st Offense (C Felony)
   Trafficking Marijuana 8 oz. to < 5 lbs. 1^st Offense (D Felony)


9. Rodney G. Abbott - age 33 - Nortonville, KY
   2 counts Trafficking Marijuana 8 oz. to < 5 lbs. 1^st Offense (D Felony)
   Trafficking Controlled Substance 1^st Degree 1^st Offense (C Felony)


10. Brandi C. Scott - age 22 - Madisonville, KY
    Trafficking Marijuana less than 8 oz. 1^st Offense (A Misdemeanor)
