Attempted Anhydrous Ammonia Theft in Allensville, KY

Allensville, KY (Todd County) - On August 9, 2004 at approximately 0200 hours, Troopers Bob Winters and Mike Manzanares observed a suspect approach and attempt to crank an anhydrous ammonia tank at the Allensville Crop Production. When the troopers approached the suspect, he fled the scene on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended. Arrested was Kyle A. McDavitt age 22 of Bowling Green, KY. McDavitt was charged with attempted theft of anhydrous ammonia, attempted possession of anhydrous ammonia, tampering with anhydrous ammonia, and fleeing/evading police 1st degree. He was lodged in the Christian County Jail. Tpr. Bob Winters is continuing the investigation.
