Hopkins County Criminal Mischief Incident

(Hopkins County, KY) - On February 23, 2004 at approximately 0555 hours, Tpr. Shane Fowler responded to a complaint of criminal mischief. The location of the complaint was on KY 70 East approximately ½ mile west of the Muhlenberg County line.

Upon arriving, Tpr. Fowler discovered that someone(s) had shot a Kentucky Utilities transformer with a firearm. The transformer that was shot is valued at $15,000 dollars. The transformer contained 225 gallons of oil that had spilled on the ground when it was shot. The estimated cleanup of the oil is $125,000 dollars.
