Arrest of James Darnell for Fleeing the Scene of an Injury Collision

(Graves County, KY)- On 7-13-04 at approximately 9:40 A.M., Stephen Lee, a Kentucky Transportation Employee was on KY. 1684 weedeating the shoulder of the road at the Boaz Cemetary Bridge. James Darnell was traveling West on KY. 1684. Due to the road department truck parked on the North shoulder of the road, Darnell proceeded to pass the vehicle in the Eastbound lane. As Darnell passed Lee, he struck Lee's hand. Darnell continued West, failing to stop and render aid or report the collision. The investigation has led to the arrest of Darnell. Darnell was arrested today, 7-14-04 at 1:17 P.M., charging him with Fleeing the Scene of an Injury Collision. Darnell was lodged in the Graves County Jail. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Hunt.
