An Arrest for Possession of Marijuana

(Trigg County, KY.) While working criminal patrol on I-24 in Trigg County, Trooper T.J. Williams executed a traffic stop on a 1993 Chevrolet Caprice for excessive window tint. After speaking to the female driver, Maisha Moore, Trooper Williams obtained consent to search the vehicle from both the driver and the passenger. Dewayne Potts Jr., the passenger, stated that there was marijuana inside the passenger side door. Further search of the vehicle revealed a child's backpack containing $4,236.00 in cash. Kentucky State Police Canines from Post 1 and Post 2 both alerted on the bag for the presence of narcotics. Mr Potts was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana, and he is currently lodged in the Trigg Co Jail. Trooper Williams was assisted by Trooper Mike Turnbow, Trooper Mark Combs, and Trooper Bob Winters.
