Promoting Contraband 1st Degree Kentucky State Penitentiary arrest
(Eddyville, KY) - On Saturday, June 12, 2004 at approximately 10:10AM, corrections officers with the internal affairs division of the Kentucky State Penitentiary observed visitor Jennifer E. Boswell (Lexington) as she attempted to pass suspected contraband to inmate Malcolm Buchanan. Internal affairs officers observed Boswell as she attempted to conceal items in a bag of potato chips, while in the visitation room. Officers confiscated the bag and found a quantity of suspected marijuana concealed inside several balloons. The Kentucky State Police were contacted to conduct an external investigation. Field tests of the contraband showed positive for marijuana. Boswell was subsequently charged with promoting contraband 1st degree, a felony. She was released by the court on order to appear in Lyon District later this month.
