Cultivating Marijuana Over 5 Plants-Firearm Enhanced
(Carlisle County, KY.) On 5-13-04 at 8:00AM, Kentucky State Police and the Carlisle County Sheriff's Department received information of possible drug activity at the Owens residence on County Road 1024 near Cunningham. Trooper Clint Davis, Sheriff Steve McChristian and Deputy Chris Harper went to the residence to investigate the complaint. Officer approached the house and could see in plain veiw, marijuana plants being grown in a garden behind the residence. A search warrant was obtained and officers found 144 marijuana plants growing in the garden. Inside the residence, officers found processed marijuana, drug paraphernaila 2 handguns and 4 long guns. Arrested were David and Emily Ownes. Both were charged with Cultivating Marijuana Over 5 Plants-Firearm Enhanced, Possession of Marijuana-Firearm Enhanced, and Possession of Drug Paraphernaila. The two were loged in the Ballard County Jail. The investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police and the Carlisle County Sheriff's Department.
