Kentucky State Police Trooper Retires

(Henderson, KY) - Trooper John L. Marvel is retiring as of July 31st, 2004. John has been working out of the KSP post in Henderson for 21 years and has been assigned to Hancock-Daviess County.
John graduated from Meade County High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. Tpr. Marvel was a graduate of cadet class 63 in 1985.
John has worked the Daviess and Hancok County area for the past 19 years, While employed with the KSP, John received the Commissioner's Commendation in 1996 for a call at Willamette industries involving a subject shooting three co-worker and killing one.
John will be greatly missed by his fellow troopers and has provided a service second to none to the people of Hancock County. John is involved with the people in his community and everyone knew Trooper Marvel. We wish him the best in his retirement and feel the work is just about to begin for John. Trooper Marvel is married to Robyn and has three children.
