KSP involved in Shooting in Ohio County
UPDATE: Shooting involving two KSP officers
The Kentucky State Police officers involved in the shooting which occurred near Horse Branch in Ohio County last Wednesday evening .
Lt. Pat Isbill a 17 year veteran and Tpr. Tim Payne with two years of service. Both officers returned to work on Tuesday June 15, from administrative leave.

An Ohio County man has been charged with two counts of Attempted Murder on a police officer and two counts of Terroristic Threatening. On Wednesday evening around 5:24 pm the Kentucky State Police were called to a complaint near Horse Branch in rural Ohio County. Dennis K. Moore Jr., age 20 had threatened to harm his grandparents and was armed with a double barrel shotgun. Upon arrival, officers observed Moore with a weapon and attempted to persuade him to come out and talk. Officers from the Beaver Dam Police department, Hartford Police, Ohio County Sheriff's Department and the Kentucky State Police set up a parameter near a wooded area along KY 2713, Moore exited the wooded area and crossed the roadway moving towards a residence, officers ordered Moore stop and drop his weapon, Moore turned the weapon towards the officer's and Moore was shot by the officers. Moore sustained an injury to the right thigh and abrasions to the cheek and right shoulder. Moore was transported to Mercy Health Systems in Owensboro by ambulance and his condition is not known at this time. An investigation into the shooting is being conducted by Supervisors from outside the Post 16 district and the findings will not be available pending several interviews with family members and all officer's at the scene. The KSP officers involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative leave until the investigation is completed.
