Felony Arrest in Henderson, Kentucky

(Henderson, KY) -Troopers with the Kentucky State Police were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint at the intersection of U.S. 41 South and KY 136. Mr. Evertt Sparks, approaching the checkpoint from the north, turned west onto Market Street to avoid the checkpoint. The Trooper stopped Mr. Sparks at the end of Marker Street during a D.U.I. investigation, Mr. Sparks fled on foot toward Carriage Mobile Home Park. The Trooper gave chase and after a brief foot pursuit caught Mr. Sparks. Mr. Sparks resisted arrest and as a result received a laceration to the left side of his forehead. Mr. Sparks was transported to Henderson Methodist Hospital for treatment and later lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center.
