Investigation into a shooting of a Hancock County man

The Kentucky State Police are currently conducting an investigation into a shooting of a Hancock County man. It appears at this time in the investigation that an argument had taken place at the residence located at 265 Virgil Brown Road, 2 miles east of Pellville in Hancock County. The victim, Robert A. Fulkerson, age 46 was shot by a neighbor, Steve Hardesty, age 31. Hardesty and Fulkerson lived next door to one another. Fulkerson was shot one time with a 12-gauge shotgun and sustained injuries to his back, leg and head. Fulkerson was transported by ambulance to Owensboro Mercy Hospital. His condition is not known at this time. We will provide more information as it becomes available. An arrest has not been made at this time. Hardesty is being questioned at this time.

********UPDATE UPDATE********** The victim, Robert A Fulkerson was treated and released from Owensboro Mercy Hospital. Stephen E Hardesty was charged with assault 1st and arrested by detective Michael Concaugh. Mr. Hardesty is lodged in Hancock county jail.
