**UPDATE** Male Subject Sought for Rape at Kentucky Welcome Center

(LONDON, KY) - On Thursday, June 17, 2004 at approximately 3:21 a.m., Whitley County 911 received the report of a possible rape which had occurred at the Kentucky Welcome Center on I-75 North at the Kentucky -Tennessee border. Whitley County Sheriff Department responded to the scene and upon contacting the victim the Kentucky State Police was requested to conduct the investigation. Kentucky State Police Detective Stacy Anderkin reported that the female victim was in her vehicle when a male subject came up to her vehicle and told her something was leaking from under her car. After exiting her vehicle, the suspect allegedly armed with a knife forcing her back into the car where she was sexually assaulted.

The suspect is described as a White Male, between 40 and 50 years of age, Gray hair and thick gray mustache, approximately 5'7 to 5'10 inches in height, weighing between 150 and 180 pounds, and is average build. The suspect has a lazy right eye and poor hygiene. The male subject may be in the company of a white female who was observed walking near the vehicle at the time of the incident.
