Fugitive from another state arrested

(Somerset, KY) - On Tuesday, March 09, 2004 at approximately 12:15 p.m. Trooper Anthony Phillips and Officer David Nelson of the Somerset Police Department arrested Raymond J. Reed age 23 at his residence approximately 5 mile west of Somerset in Pulaski County.

According to the investigation Raymond J. Reed was stopped earlier in the week by the Somerset City Police on traffic related offense but at that time the Clermont County Sheriff Department had not entered him into NCIC as wanted.

After checking records on Tuesday it was determined that Raymond J. Reed was being sought by the Clermont County Sheriff Department after he failed to appear in court on drug related charges.

Raymond J. Reed was arrested without incident is currently being held in the Pulaski County Detention Center in Somerset charged with Fugitive from Justice out of the State of Ohio. He will remain in Pulaski County pending extradition.

Trooper Anthony Phillips is conducting the investigation and was assisted in the arrest by Somerset City Police Officer David Nelson.
