Arrests Made in Marijuana Trafficking Investigation

(Morehead, KY) -  In May of 2003 an investigation was initiated by the Kentucky State Police East Drug Enforcement Branch and Post 8 Morehead into the drug activity of two Hispanic males from the Juarez Mexico and El Paso TX area.

Both suspects also reside in the Lexington KY area on occasion. Approximately 90 pounds of marijuana was seized from the suspects during the investigation. Arrested were Miguel Martinez 36, whose positive identity and address has yet to be confirmed, and Arturo Leal 45, of San Elizaro TX.

Leal was lodged in the Montgomery Co. Regional Jail and Martinez was lodged in the Powell Co. Jail. Both suspects were charged with Trafficking in Marijuana over 5 pounds.

The investigation is continuing as other possible charges are pending on thesesuspects as well as others.
