Truman Evans Captured in Ohio

(Ashland, Kentucky) - The Kentucky State Police received confirmation from FBI Agents from the Cleveland, Ohio field office that they had located and apprehended Truman Evans on July 16, 2003.

Evans was convicted on July 1, 2003 on counts of first-degree sodomy and criminal attempt to commit first-degree sodomy.  He forced a child to perform oral sex on him and attempted to force another child to do the same.  He escaped from custody as the jury began deliberations in his trial.  According to Trooper Sam Little, of Kentucky State Police Post 14, FBI agents apprehended at a residence in Geneva, Ohio.

"His arrest is a very big relief," Little said. "We had been looking for him 24-7. At least we know there's no chance of him harming anyone else."

Evans is being held in the Ashtibula County (Ohio) Jail pending extradition back to Kentucky.
