Two Arrested on Drug Charges in Laurel County

(London, KY) - On Wednesday, December 31, 2003 Kentucky State Police Sergeant Tony Terry and Trooper John Root observed a red pickup being operated in a reckless manner on Jackson Road approximately 2 miles north of East Bernstadt in Laurel County.

Upon stopping the vehicle it was determined that the driver Gerald Collier age 49 of East Bernstadt was under the influence and was also known to have a federal warrant for parole violation and was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Office.

The investigation lead to the arrest of both Gerald Collier and his passenger Doug Williams age 43 of East Bernstadt. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center in London charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Gerald Collier was also charged with Resisting Arrest.

Trooper John Root is conducting the investigation and was assisted at the scene by Sergeant Tony Terry and Trooper Jimmy Phelps.
