Four (4) Arrested on Methamphetamine Charges in
Rockcastle County by Post 11 Trooper

(London, KY) - On Friday, June 6, 2003 at approximately 4:00 p.m., Trooper Coby Smith observed a 1991 Honda passenger car driving at an unsafe speed traveling south on US 25 in Rockcastle County.

Trooper Smith turned on the vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle when the driver of the vehicle attempted to elude the stop by accelerating and driving in a reckless manner continuing south on US 25.

The vehicle was observed driving behind the 59-truck plaza on US 25 where the driver stopped the vehicle.

After the vehicle stopped a female passenger fled the vehicle on foot into a wooded area where she (Angela D. Miller age 26 of Mt. Vernon) was apprehended a short time later. The driver of the vehicle John D. Riddle age 36 of Mt. Vernon was arrested at the scene and charged with Fleeing and Evading 1st.

An investigation of the vehicle lead to the discovery of components used in the manufacturing of Methamphetamine in the vehicle. All four occupants John D. Riddle, Angela D. Miller, Joshua D. Broughton age 24 of Seymour, Indiana and Dawn Straud age 23 of Seymour, Indiana were lodged in the Rockcastle County Jail charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia not in a Proper Container.

Angela D. Miller was charged additionally with Resisting Arrest and Escape 2nd degree. Angela D. Miller was wanted for escaping from the Rockcastle County Jail in April of 2003.

Trooper Coby Smith is continuing the investigation. Assisting in the arrest were Deputies from the Rockcastle County Sheriff Department.
