KSP Post 8 Commander
Kentucky State Police Post 8 located in Morehead is under the command of Captain Bobby D. Murray. Captain Murray received his KSP commission in July of 1999 and was appointed Post 8 commander in August of 2010.
KSP Post 8 Shop with a Trooper
(Morehead, Ky.) -- (Morehead, Ky.) -- On December 15, 2011 Santa Claus (CVE Sgt. John Kearns) and his joyous Elf (KSP Dispatcher Supervisor, Joyce Waddle) were greeted by 29 young children and their family members at the Rowan County Health Department during the 2011 "Shop with a Trooper" festivities. Ms. Heather Anderson and her staff were gracious enough to open their doors to these delightful children and their families.

Trooper McPhereson is honored for impaired driving enforcement
(Morehead, Ky.) -- The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety (KOHS) today honored 201 law enforcement officers from 185 agencies across the Commonwealth for their efforts to target impaired drivers.
The 2011 Governor's Impaired Driving Enforcement Awards ceremony was held at the Embassy Suites hotel in Lexington. Awards were presented to officers with the most impaired driving arrests in each agency and division.

KSP Post 8 "Cram the Cruiser"
(Morehead, Ky.) -- Captain Bobby D. Murrary of the Kentucky State Police Post 8, Morehead announces this years "Cram the Cruiser." From November 28 until December 12, 2011 a designated cruiser will be parked in the front parking lot at Post 8 to collect non-perishable food items. During the 2010 campaign, the Kentucky State Police collected 21,586 pounds of food of which Post 8 collected 3,154 pounds.
