Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations Lieutenant Graduates from the Southern Police Institute

(Bowling Green, KY) -- Kentucky State Police Lieutenant Janet Barnett recently graduated the intensive 12 week (480 hour) on campus Administrative Officers Course at the Southern Police Institute (SPI). SPI is consistently ranked among the top law enforcement educational and training schools in the nation. The 129th Administrative Officers Course was comprised of 47 law enforcement managers representing 33 different agencies from 16 states and an international participant, the Turkish National Police. The course included training on leadership, police administration, legal issues, and crime suppression techniques. "This course is very rigorous. We are fortunate to have Alumni in police leadership positions all across the United States," said the program's director Tad Hughes. Since 1951, The Southern Police Institute has served to educate hundreds of officers in furtherance of its core mission of enhancing the professionalism and the effectiveness of police executives around the world. Graduates of the Administrative Officers Course are well positioned to help improve their communities and their organizations.
In 1999, after graduating the Kentucky State Police Academy Lieutenant Barnett was assigned to Post 1, Mayfield. While remaining at Post 1, she promoted to Sergeant in 2005 and Lieutenant in 2008. Currently, Lieutenant Barnett is assigned to the Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations West Branch where she has proven to be a great asset for the past 4 years.
