Seat Belt Violation Leads to Arrest for Possession of Methamphetamine

Shepherdsville, Ky. (December 26, 2017) Kentucky State Police Commercial Enforcement Division conducted a traffic stop on a 2010 Chevrolet yesterday around 10:54 am on Cedar Grove Road in Shepherdsville. The driver who was identified as 33 year-old Ricky Cardwell of Munfordville, KY was observed driving without his seat belt. During the investigation the driver was found to be operating on a suspended operator’s license. The driver was found to be in Possession of Marijuana and Methamphetamine. He was arrested and lodged in the Bullitt County jail and charged with Failure to Wear Seat Belt, Operating on a Suspended License, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine) and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
A passenger 24 year-old Caitlin Veirs of Munfordville, was found to be in possession of Marijuana and Methamphetamine. She was arrested and lodged in the Bullitt County Jail. She was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Endangering the Welfare of a Minor and Failure to Notify DOT of Address Change.
