Lee County School Bus Involved In Early Morning Non-Injury Crash

Beattyville, Ky. (November 21, 2016) Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement investigated a collision involving a Lee County School bus. Through investigations, it appears a deer jumped into the path of Lee County School bus #95 on Primrose Lane in Lee County early Tuesday morning. As a result of the deer jumping into the roadway, the operator of the school bus Keith Smith, swerved to avoid a collision and drove into the ditch. The school bus was transporting 10 students and no injuries were sustained. The school bus remained operational and was drove from the scene. Lee County Board of Education followed up with their policy and procedures. Senior Officer Dennis Johnson continues the investigation and was assisted on scene by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
