Kentucky State Police/Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Welcomes New Officer

(Morehead, KY) - KSP/CVE would like to welcome Officer Jerrod Foley, the newest officer assigned to Region 5. Officer Foley successfully completed 22 weeks of training on February 19, 2016, which consists of 888 hours of recruit level officer academy instruction. Prior to his graduation, he also completed two weeks of North American Standards training and one week of hazardous material training that all CVE officers are required to take in addition to academy requirements.
Officer Foley is currently in his second week of field training, which consists of eight weeks of supervised training by a veteran officer. During this eight week period, he will be evaluated based on his performance in areas such as procedures and operations, driving skills, decision making and interaction with the public. Once he successfully completes the probationary period, he will begin to work out of Region 5/Post 8 in Morehead, KY.
Officer Foley was born in Miami, FL on January 14, 1992, and raised in Williamsburg, KY. He currently resides in Richmond, KY. Officer Foley is the son of Jim and Leanell Foley of Williamsburg. He graduated from Williamsburg Independent High School in 2010. He attended University of the Cumberland's and Eastern Kentucky University, where he studied aerospace management and professional flight. Officer Foley's outside interests include race car driving, hunting and fishing, building and dog training his Rottweiler, Nitro, and German Shephard, CoCo.
