Big Laurel Woman Killed in a Collision on US 421 in Harlan County

(Harlan, KY) - On March 17th 2016 around 12:00 P.M. officers from KSP-Vehicle Enforcement responded to a fatal crash located on US421 in the Bledsoe Community of Harlan County.

Upon arrival and through investigation officers found a 2007 Chevy Aveo being operated by 32 year old Amanda N. Bradford of Big Laurel Kentucky traveling North on US421 when it crossed the center line and struck a 1989 Peterbilt being operated by 46 year old Billy Smith of Hoskinston Kentucky.

Smith was not injured in the crash, Amanda N. Bradford was pronounced dead on scene by the Harlan County Coroner's office.

Drug and alcohol testing are pending in the crash at this time and seat belts were utilized at the time of collision.

Assisting on scene: Kentucky State Police, Bledsoe Fire Department, Harlan Co Rescue Squad and Harlan County Coroners Officer. Officer Jason Freeman continues the investigation.
