Injury Collision on Highway 100 in Monroe County Involving a Milk Truck

Fountain Run, Ky. (July 12, 2016) - Kentucky State Police investigated a single vehicle injury collision involving a milk truck on KY--100, 5 miles east of Fountain Run today at 2:25 p.m.

Preliminary investigations indicate 53 year-old Frank Ortaga of Tompkinsville was operating a 2007 Kenworth milk truck west on KY-100. Ortaga was attempting to negotiate a curve when the load of milk in the trailer shifted causing his vehicle to overturn off the roadway. Ortaga was flown from the scene by Air Evac 43 to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN with Non-Life Threatening injuries.

Sr. Officer Casey Tooley investigated the collision and was assisted by the Monroe County Sheriff, EMS, Fire Departments and Air Evac 43.
