Fatal Accident on KY 55 in Adair County

(Columbia, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement responded to a single vehicle accident that occurred today at approximately 12:53p.m. 1 mile south of Columbia on KY 55.

The preliminary investigation indicated that 66-year old James M. Braden of Crossville, Tennessee was operating a 2000 Freightliner flatbed traveling south on KY 55 when his vehicle ran off the roadway where it overturned. Braden was pronounced dead at the scene by the Adair County Coroner.

The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Senior Officer Randy Honeycutt. He was assisted at the scene by Capt. Joey Conn, Capt. Jamie Heller and Trooper Nick Hale, Adair County Fire and EMS, and the Adair County Coroner's Office.
