Drug Arrest in Laurel County

(London, KY) - On Saturday May 17th 2014 around 2AM Officer Mike Hamblin of the Kentucky State Police-Vehicle Enforcement stopped a vehicle after observing it driving in a careless and unsafe manner on Fariston road two miles south of London.
Upon investigation Hamblin found the operator 31 year old John Holland of Manchester operating a 1989 Dodge passenger car in a carless unsafe manner and under the influence of drugs. Further investigation found a plastic baggy with a white powder substance along with a glass pipe that is commonly used to smoke methamphetamine.
Holland was arrested and charged with possession controlled substance1st degree (Methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI, and prescription controlled substance not in the original container.
A passenger 35 year old Allan Wombles of London was arrested on public intoxication charges along with possession controlled substance 1st-methamphetamine, illegal possession of legend drugs and promoting contraband 1st after attempting to conceal crystal meth under the rear seat of the police car and inside his body cavity after entering the detention center.
Both Holland and Wombles were lodged in the Laurel Co Detention Center.
