KSP/CVE Officer Graduates Basic Training

(Georgetown, Ky.) - Mr. Vincent S. Hazelwood graduated from Eastern Kentucky Universities DOCJT basic police academy on December 5th. The ceremony held in Richmond, KY recognized officers for their completion of an 18 week program that included several areas of Law Enforcement Training such as patrol, personal defense, driving, and constitutional law. Prior to reporting to DOCJT, Hazelwood and other fellow cadets reported to KSP headquarters in Frankfort for training in the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement field that included a wide range of Federal Laws and Regulations.

Before beginning his duties as a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer he will have 12 weeks of supervised training, riding with a senior officer to demonstrate his abilities. Ofc. Hazelwood will be assigned to Region 3 Georgetown, which serves 23 counties in the Commonwealth. Mr. Hazelwood graduated Meade County High School and went on to attended Campbellsville University where he received his Bachelor Degree in 2011 in the field of Criminal Justice with a minor in Homeland Security. He currently resides in Lexington, Ky.
