KSP CVE Officer graduates basic training with honors

(Louisville, KY.) - Mr. James Brian Snyder graduated from Eastern Kentucky Universities DOCJT basic police academy on December 5th. The ceremony held in Richmond KY recognized officers for their completion of an 18 week program which includes training in areas such as driving, personal defense, patrol,and constitutional law. Prior to reporting to DOCJT, Snyder and fellows cadets reported to KSP headquarters in Frankfort for commercial vehicle and federal law training. Snyder received the award of Distinguished Academy Graduate by maintaing a grade point average of 95% or higher, the fit for duty award, and served as a squad leader. Before beginning his duties as a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer he will have 12 weeks of supervised training, riding with a senior officer to demonstrate his abilities. He will be assigned to Region 2 Louisville, which serves 27 counties in the Commonwealth. Mr. Snyder previously served in the United States Marine Corp and is the son of Mr. Jerry and June Synder of Lincolnton North Carolina. He resides in Greensburg with his girlfriend Amanda Slinker.
