KSP CVE to Participate in National Passenger Carrier Strike Force
Date of News Release: 08/26/2014
(Louisville, KY.) – Kentucky State Police division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement will be participating in the National Passenger Carrier Strike Force that runs from August 25th until September 8th. This initative will focus on Motor coaches, School buses, Limousines, and Shuttle buses operating for hire. Officers, Inspectors, and Troopers will focus their attention to these specific vehicles, looking for safety and driving related offenses while patrolling high crash corridors. Officers will also be visiting curbside locations, terminals, and principle places of business for these vehicles conducting random inspections to ensure safety. Highway safety, especially when large numbers of people are being transported is a major concern of KSP and enforcement will be greatly enhanced during this strike force. The motoring public is reminded to use caution while operating near these types of vehicles, allowing them more room to safely maneuver on KY's roadways. The public is encouraged to report unsafe vehicles by calling 9-1-1 and giving the operator the location, direction of travel, and license plate number of the vehicle in question.
