Drug Arrest After Traffic Stop on the Watterson Expressway

Louisville, KY. (February 18, 2014) -- An evening traffic stop intercepts a large amount of suspected Crystal Meth. At approx 8 p.m. on Monday February 17th, Officer Jared Newberry stopped a 2007 Freightliner for a traffic violation near the 21 mile point on the Watterson Expressway. Inside the cab of the tractor a black duffel bag was found and more than 115 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine was located. Several forms of the suspected drug were found including rock, liquid, and powder; with an estimated street value of $30,000 dollars. The vehicle was en route from New York and bound for Laredo Texas. KY State Police were assisted by Louisville Metro Police K-9 and LMPD Traffic Division. The case is currently under investigation by Officer Newberry.
